A RESOLUTION RECITING THE NEED FOR ACQUIRING A CERTAIN PARCEL
OF LAND BELONGING TO LENNIE BOYD, A WIDOW, TO BE USED FOR THE COMPLETION
OF THE INTERIM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PROVIDING FOR AND
AUTHORIZING THE CONDEMNATION OF SAME
WHEREAS, a parcel of real estate is owned of record by Lennie Boyd, a
widow, and is necessary for the completion of the Interim Community Development
Plan, Application No. B- 75HN =21 -0009, and
WHEREAS, the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency, by
resolution dated May 3, 1977, requested institution of Condemnation proceedings in
its behalf, and
WHEREAS, it does not appear that a purchase agreement can be reached
at this time with the owner of the subject property, and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
does therefore agree with the request of the Urban Renewal and Community Develop-
ment Agency of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that it will be necessary to
institute condemnation proceedings pursuant to the Kentucky Revised Statutes to
acquire title to this property.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Assistant Corporation Counsel be, and he is
hereby, ordered and directed to institue condemnation proceedings in the
McCracken Circuit Court against Lennie Boyd, and any and all other parties in
interest to acquire all of the right, title and interest in the subject property owned
by the aforementioned.
SECTION 2. That the parcel to be taken is more particularly described
as follows:
Beginning at a stake on the West side of 10th Street
and Southeast corner of Block No. 32, Harris,
Flournoy, Trimble and Norton's Addition to Paducah,
Kentucky; thence extending down 10th Street and
toward Burnett Street and towards 11th Street 72 1/2
feet, more or less; thence parallel with 10th Street to-
wards Boyd Street 20 feet, more or less to Leach
Avenue, thence with Leach Avenue to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after the date of its adoption.
