AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A MEMORANDUM OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO,
FIREARMS AND EXPLOSIVES AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE
POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE
SAID MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby approves a Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives and the City of Paducah for the Police Department to form a joint operation
called the Western Kentucky Gun Crime Task Force.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the
memorandum of understanding approved in Section 1 above. The MOU may be
terminated by either participant at any time upon providing 30 calendar days advance
written notice of their intent to withdraw to all other parties in the MOU.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will
become effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
