AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A GRANT
AGREEMENT AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATING THERETO WITH THE U. S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR A BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP GRANT
PROGRAM AWARD
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah applied for a U. S. Department of Justice
Bulletproof Vest partnership Grant Program Award adopted by Municipal Order No. 1460 on
June 9, 2009, for assistance with purchasing bulletproof vests to be used by the Paducah Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security has approved the
application and is now ready to award this grant.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a Grant Agreement and
all documents relating thereto with the U. S. Department of Justice for a Bulletproof Vest
Partnership Grant Program Award in the amount of $6,262.50 for assistance with purchasing
bulletproof vests to be used by the Paducah Police Department. The remaining funds of
$6,262.50 will come from the Police Department's existing budget.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project Account No. P00026.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
