AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH MARCUM ENGINEERING, LLC FOR
T THE DESIGN OF EMERGENCY GENERATORS FOR THE CITY'S PRIORITY BUILDINGS
WHEREAS, during the 2009 Ice Storm, the City of Paducah was without
electricity for several days; and
WHEREAS, during this time, it was discovered that several of the City's priority
buildings were without proper back-up electrical power; and
WHEREAS, the City has a need for professional services to review and design the
type of generators required for the City's priority buildings; and
WHEREAS, Marcum Engineering, LLC, has in its employ persons experienced in
this area of expertise.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized to
execute a Professional Services Agreement with Marcum Engineering, LLC, in an amount not to
exceed $40,000.00 for professional services to review and design the type of generators required
for the City's priority buildings.
SECTION 2. This expenditure shall be charged to Project Account PF0066.
- SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon summary publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424.
