HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-8-7605ORDINANCE NO.2009-8-7605 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY LOCATED NEAR THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN GLENWOOD DRIVE AND ELMDALE ROAD TO THE PADUCAH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A DEED FOR SAME WHEREAS, pursuant to 2-668 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, a written determination has been made by the City Manager that the City does not have any use at this time or in the future for said property, which constitutes surplus real estate. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah hereby approves the transfer of real property located near the intersection of Glenwood Drive and Elmdale Road to the Paducah Independent School System to be used for the construction of a new school, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point of the West side of Glenwood Drive 130 feet Southwardly from the Southwest corner of the intersection of Glenwood Drive and Elmdale Road, said beginning point being on the property line dividing the property of the party of the first part and that of Forest Hills, Inc.; thence North 84 degrees, 20 minutes and 34 seconds West and with said dividing line 159.02 feet to a stake; thence North 75 degrees, 38 minutes and 24 seconds West and with said dividing line 250.83 feet to another stake; thence South 15 degrees 41 minutes and 47 seconds West and with said dividing 531.47 feet to another stake; thence South 61 degrees, 30 minutes and 30 second East for a distance of 144.44 feet to property line of the party of the first part; thence North 30 degrees 55 minutes East and with the line of the party of the first part 126.55 feet to a stake; thence South 60 degrees, 7 minutes East 150 feet; thence in a Northerly direction and with the Westerly line of Glenwood Drive if extended to the point of beginning: Said tract as herein described being designated on the plat of Forest Hills, which plat is recorded in Plat Book E, page 4, McCracken County Court Clerk's office, as a 4.75 acre tract belonging to a Paducah Park Board. SECTION 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute a deed and any other documents necessary for the transfer of said real property. SECTION 3.
