ORDINANCE NO. 78-12-1670
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE PROPOSAL OF WHAYNE SUPPLY COMPANY
IN. THE AMOUNT OF 13,..694-96. FOR REPAIRS ,TO THE- #61.3 SCRAPER- USED ON THE
LANDFILL, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST - - - i - -
WHEREAS, on_ or - about -November-- 1,- -1978 , the- #61.3 - Scraper used by
the Refuse Department on the landfill became unserviceable, and
WHEREAS, it. was deemed by .the City Manager, upon the advice of the
Refuse Department .Director, that an emergency existed and that it was imperative
that the aforesaid scraper be repaired and returned to service as soon as possible,
and
WHEREAS,, various dealers were solicited so as to obtain prompt delivery
and a fair price,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE -BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF, PADUCAH., KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City accept the proposal of Whayne Supply Company
in the amount of $3,694.96 for repairs to the #618 Scraper used .on the landfill,
said proposal being, in .substantial .compliance with quotations submitted by said
Whayne Supply Company, dated November 8, 1978.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,,•authorized to
execute a contract with Whayne Supply Company, for the equipments authorized_ in
Section 1 above , according to the quotation submitted by Whayne Supply Company.
SECTION 3. The purchase price for said equipment shall be charged to
Federal Revenue Sharing Account No. 3509.
SECTION 4 An emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance shall
therefore be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one
week in the completed form in which.it shall be put upon its final passage, and
if adopted shall be in full force and effect immediately thereafter.
