ORDINANCE NO. 78-12-1665
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND" DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND
CITY TREASURER TO PAY THE SUM OF TWENTY FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2500.00)
TO ROOSEVELT NUNN ' FOR FULL AND COMPLETE" SETTLEMENT OF ALL CLAIMS ARISING
OUT OF THE LAWSUIT ENTITLED"ROOSEVELT NUNN'V''CITY OF PADUCAH .ET AL
WHEREAS, on May 15, 19=74; Roosevelt Nunn, an employee of the City of
Paducah, filed in the McCracken Circuit Court , Civil Action No. 18400, a lawsuit
against the 'City of Paducah, et a1, and
WHEREAS, said Roosevelt Nunn, by'the aforesaid lawsuit sought to obtain
damages against the City' in the sum of $22,500.001 -for back wages and attorney
fees arising out of his dismissal as an employee on or about January 29, 1971,
and
WHEREAS, upon the advice and recommendation of the Corporation
Counsel and the City Manager the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, now deems that the payment of the aforesaid settlement sum is just and
in the best interest of the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager and the City Treasurer are hereby
authorized and directed to pay the sum of Twenty-five hundred dollars ($2500.00) to
Roosevelt Nunn as full and complete settlement for all claims arising out of a law-
suit entitled Roosevelt Nunn v City of Paducah, et al, McCracken Circuit Court,
Civil Action No. 13400.
SECTION 2. That Account No. FRS 9094
aforesaid sum.
shall be charged with the
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for one
week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days there-
after.
