HomeMy WebLinkAboutBids for tires (2)442 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENT FOR NEW AND RECAPPED AUTOMOBILE AND TRUCK TIRES, FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM JANUARY 1, 1980 TO DECEMBER 31, 1980 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: ` SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized and . - - _ _. directed to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with its require- ment of new and recapped automobile and truck tires, for the period of time from January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1980, under the following terms and conditions: Each bidder shall state his discount price based upon net State prices to .. -.. the Commonwealth of Kentixcky, and each bid shall include within the bid all taxes, if any . The successful bidder shall state that it agrees to be responsible for sta.pply- ing all regixested tires that may be listed on the bid form whether from the bidder's ,. ,,, :. ,.: _. stock or from other suppliers, and all bids for items not in stock by the supplier shall specifically name the mantxfacttxrer , type of tire and guaranteed price . The acceptance of any bid shall not preclude the City from purchasing used tires or Civil Defense surplus tires from any source other than the successful bidder. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a notice on the bulletin board at City Hall and by inserting notice of the request for bids in The Paducah Stxn to__be published , as._ :required. ,by--law . ..All.. bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received, -after the _Y~otzr fixed ~ in„ the notice -:for opening of same. All bids-..received by,._ the -City Manager up to the- time: fixed in the notice for opening of same shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let a con- tract to the best responsible bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City shall not beocme legally obligated to any bidder until the final adoption of an authorizing ordinance and the execution of a contract . SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption .
