TO RECEIVE AND DISBURSE COIV- TR;IBLTTIONS~ "TO SAID ACCOUNT ' WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners believes that it is to the public-- betterment to support -artistic projects involving renowned "dignitaries of the City of Paducah, and WHEREAS, there is presently existing a project styled "HISTORY IN BRONZE" which principle project is the' casting of a--bronze bust of former Vice President Alben Barkley and Governor Julian Carroll, and " WHEREAS, the "History in Bronze" project has contracted with Fredda Brilliant, a world renowned sculptress to cast the bronze busts; and WHEREAS, the citizens of Pa~d'txcah have shown their support of~ this project by their generous contributions to- int., and ~ % ' - - _: ., . " WHEREAS; the project is still short of monies necessary to complete it, and WHEREAS,:~.tzpon completion of the bronze busts they will be donated to the City of Paducah, to remain on permanent display in the City Hall of the City of Paducah, and -:.WHEREAS, the:iCity of Paducah- has a policy of stxpportirig artistic programs by acting as a conduit for contributions from contributors to -the City of Paducah for payment to charitable and artistic programs . -_ NOW:,:. THEREFORE,. BE IT' RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY""OF',PADUCAH; KENTUCKY: " SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah here- by pledge that they will turn all monies received from contributors designated as contributions to-the "History.``in Bronze':' .project. over- to the "History in Bronze" project . SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to set ttp an account into which he is _.~~ place: all monies" received as designated 'for the "History in Bronze" project, and further to disburse said monies to the "History in Bronze" project. SECTION 3.
