HomeMy WebLinkAboutNeed for Adams Land351 A RESOLUTION RECITING THE NEED FOR ACQUIRING A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND BELONGING TO HANSON~ADANIS AND WIFE, HAZEL L. ADAMS, TO BE USED FOR THE COMPLETION OF THE INTERIM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN AND PRO- VIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE COATDEMNATION OF SAME WHEREAS , a parcel of real estate is owned of record by Hanson Adams and wife , Hazel L . Adams , and is necessary for the completion of the Interim Com- munity Development Plan, Application No. B-75HN-21-00009, and WHEREAS , the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency, by resolution dated July 3, 1979, requested institution of Condemnation proceedings in its behalf, and WHEREAS , it does not appear that a purchase agreement can be reached at this time with the owners of the subject property, and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does therefore agree with the request of the Urban Renewal and Community Development Agency of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, that it will be necessary to institute condemnation proceedings pursuant to the Kentucky Revised Statutes to acquire title to this property . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Assistant Corporation Counsel be, and he is here- by, ordered and directed to institute condemnation proceedings in the McCracken Circuit Court against Hanson Adams and wife , Hazel L . Adams , and any and all other parties in interest to acquire all of the right, title and interest in the subject property owned by the aforementioned . SECTION 2. That the parcel to be taken is more particularly described as follows: Being a part of block No . 41, Addition "F" , of Harris , Flournoy , Trimble & Norton's Addition to the City of Paducah , Kentucky , fronting on North 10th Street and beginning 160 feet from the Northwesterly corner of the intersection of 10th & Burnett Streets, the same being a common corner to the lot herein conveyed and a lot or parcel of land conveyed to Thomas Sparks by W . A . Gardner by deed dated July 11, 1892, and recorded in Deed Book 45, page 175, McCracken County Court Clerk's Office; thence with the aforesaid Sparks' line and parallel with Burnett Street and in a Northerly direction 150 feet to the line of an alley, and corner to the aforesaid Sparks' line and parallel with Burnett Street and in a Northerly direction 150 feet to the line of an alley, and corner to the aforesaid Sparks' lot; thence at right angles and with the south- erly line of said alley and in a westerly direction and towards Flournoy Street 30 feet, more or less, to the center of that certain lot or parcel of land conveyed to Joe B . Laevison by W . E . Allen and wife, by deed dated December 12 , 1899 , and recorded in Deed Book 59, page 145, of which the herein conveyed lot is the east- erly half thereof, and common corner to the lot this day conveyed by first parties herein to Thawson Jackson and wife, Jessie Mae Jackson; thence at right angles in a southerly direction and with the line dividing the herein conveyed and described lot and said ~~ Thawson Jackson lot 150 feet to a stake in the northerly line or 352 side of 10th Street, corner to -the aforesaid Jackson -lot;- thence at right angles and with the northerly side of line of 10th Street 30 feet, more or less; to the` poi:rit of beginning and known as 1114 North 10th Street . SECTION 3.
