ORDINANCE NO. 79-10-1808
AN "ORDINANCE AMENDING THE EXISTING -WATER RATE'' ORDINANCE OF
THE 'CITY OF _PADU'CAH',"KENTUCKY; ' SO AS `Ta' DECREASE WATER RATE AND
MINIMUM CHARGES FOR'�TWATER SERVICE"TO -CUSTOMERS OF THE PADUCAH WATER
WORKS BOTH' INSIDE AND OUTSIDE` THE. -CORPORATE` LIMITS OF THE CITY
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF,- COMMIS'SIONERS
OF THE -:CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY,- AS- FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City -of Paducah accept the recommendation of the
Commissioners of the. Paducah Water Works, and that Ordinance No. -78-11-1644, en-
acted -on November 14', 1978 ("the 1978 Rate Ordinance") is `hereby` amended to -
decrease "water rates: and minimum charges for water -service to customers loth inside
and outside. the corporate limits of the .City. of Paducah, -as follows: '

(b) Minimum Monthly Charges
The
minimum monthly charge to customers inside
the City Limits having
a 5/8 inch meter shall be $2.67 per month, and each such customer shall be entitled
to 1,500 gallons of water per month for such minimum charge. The minimum monthly
charge for all size meters and the applicable water consumption to which such
customer shall be entitled for such minimum monthly charge, are as follows:

(b) Minimum Monthly Charges
The --minimum monthly charge to customers outside the City Limits, having
a 5/8 inch meter-„ shall be $4;65- per month; and each customer, shall -be- entitled to
2,500 gallons- of, water . per month for such minimum -charge-.The -minimum monthly.
charge to cii-stomers outside .the City Limits for all> size meters .and the applicable water
consumption to which, such customers shall be entitled for such- minimum monthly charge,
are as follows:.

In addition to the rates and 'charges set' out in 1B (a) , (b) , and (c) above, a
surcharge "Shall rbb added to the monthly bills of cus- to ffi Or sr in certain areas outside the
City limits, as follows:

$0.50 of such surcharge in' each month shall= be applied to fire protection.
The proceeds of .the surcharge in the respective areas- shall be applied to
retire indebtednesse-s incurred by the"Paducah Water Works (and/or bonds issued by
the City) in extending water mains into the respective county areas.
SECTION 2. That all other provisions
of the 1978 Rate Ordinance
are
hereby
re-enacted and reaffirmed, and made a part hereof the same as if copied in
full
herein.
SECTION 3. That the foregoing water
rates and charges shall be
effective
"beginning with the monthly or bi-monthly bill periods immediately following
the
period
during which this Ordinance becomes effective. -
SECTION 4. That the foregoing rates
are -rates to be charged by
the
Paducah
Water Works, and any applicable State sales tax
shall be added to each bill
as a separate
charge.
SECTION 5. That nothing in -this Ordinance shall be "construed to affect any
contract. between the Paducah Water Works "and any water district relative to the amount
and. method- of charging such water district for water furnished by -the Paducah Water Works.
SECTION 6. That if any clause, provision, paragraph or "section of this
Ordinance shall be ruled void or unenforceable by any court of competent jurisdiction,
the remainder hereof is intended to be enacted and shall be in full force and effect not-
withstanding
SECTION. 7. That all ordinances and- parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of ,such conflict, hereby -repealed:. -
SECTION 8.. That this Ordinance shall be-introd%iced_ at a meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least -one week for public inspection
in the completed form in which it shall be put on its final passage, and, if adopted,
