HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-9-1790368 ORDINANCE NO. 79-9-1790 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO HAVE INSTALLED THE ESSX-1 SYSTEM OF THE SOUTH CENTRAL BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY, AND APPROVING INSTALLATION COST OF APPROXIMATELY $4,063.00 old, and WHEREAS, the present City of Paducah's telephone system is 14 years WHEREAS, said system is outdated for today's needs and does not allow for efficient communication between the various departments and offices of the City, and WHEREAS, recent improvements in the South Central Bell Telephone Company's Paducah exchange have made many modern innovations available, and WHEREAS, a modern efficient telephone system would be beneficial to the operation of the City and the convenience of the citizens of the City of Paducah, and WHEREAS, South Central Bell Telephone Company has made available to the City of Paducah it's ESSX-1 system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to arrange for the installation of the ESSX-1 system of the South Central Bell Telephone Company in City Hall and all other City of Paducah departments not physically located in City Hall. SECTION 2. 'That the City Manager be., and he is hereby, authorized to pay South Central Bell Telephone Company the approximate amount of $4,063.00 for the installation of the ESSX-1 Telephone System. SECTION 3. That pursuant to KRS 84.100(3) the requirement for reading of this ordinance at two separate meetings shall be suspended, provided that this ordinance pass by a vote of two-thirds of the members of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah . SECTION 4. That General Fund Account No. 1706 shall be charged with the aforesaid expenditure. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
