HomeMy WebLinkAbout79-3-169284 ORDINANCE NO. 79-3-1692 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS_ 27-48 AND 27749 OF.ARTICLE III "CHARGES FOR COLLECTION BY CITY",- OF CHAPTER 27 -"REFUSE".- OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS_ OF, THE CITY.. OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 27-48 of Article III "Charges for. Collection.... by City", of Chapter 27 "Refuse" of the Code of Ordinances of, the. City --of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and re - ordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 27-48. Rates - Normal service. There is hereby levied a refuse collection service charge. of Five _.y g . ; . _ hold and each Dollars and twent -ei ht cents (5.28) per month on each__ house business place in the City for the purpose of increasing the revenue of the general fund out of which shall be met the costs of providing refuse collection service; provided that households of which the lawful head is unable to afford such charge, as certified by a social agency as authorized ,by the city, may be exempt from such charge"' - SECTION 2. That Section 27-49 of Article III "Charges for Collection by City", of Chapter 27 "Refuse" of the Code of Ordinances of the _City .of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Sec. 27-49. Same - Additional Service Generally. For additional refuse collection service rendered by the City, there shall be levied a charge which shall be based on the following schedule of charges, except as otherwise provided in Section 27-50. This ordinance amends an ordinance originally adopted on December '16, 1952,which was last amended by Ordinance No. 79-2=1689, adopted by the Board of Commissioners on February 27, 1979 SECTION 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are , to the extend of such conflict,- hereby repealed. SECTION 5. If any parts of this ordinance are for any reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining .portions :of this ordinance. The Board "of Commissioners hereby declares that it would have passed this ordinance and each part or parts thereof irrespective of the fact that any one part or parts be declared invalid.` SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after April 1, 1979.
