AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 27-48 AND 27-49 OF ARTICLE III
"CHARGES FOR COLLECTION BY CITY", OF CHAPTER 27 "REFUSE" OF THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
- PADUCAH ; KENTUCKY:"
SECTION 1. That Section 27-48 of Article III "Charges for Collection
by City", of Chapter 27 "Refuse" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah,
"Kentucky,` be -amended -and reordairied so that said section as amended and re -
ordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec.- 27-48'. Rates _ Normal --service.
There "is hereby levied a refuse collection service charge of Five
Dollars and- eighty-five cents ($5.85) per month on each household and each
business place in the City for the purpose of increasing the revenue of the general
fund out of which shall be met the costs of providing refuse collection service;
provided that households of which the lawful head is unable to afford such charge,
as certified by a social agency as authorized by the city, may be exempt from
such charge".
SECTION 2. That Section 27-49 of Article III "Charges for Collection
by City", of Chapter 27 "Refuse" of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended
and reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 27-49. Same - Additional Service Generally.
For additional refuse collection service rendered by the City, there
shall be levied a charge which shall be based on the following schedule of charges,
except as otherwise provided in Section 27-50.

SECTION 3. This ordinance amends an ordinance originally adopted on
December 16, 1952, which was last amended, by Ordinance -No. 7,6- 1-121.9., adopted
by the Board of Commissioners on January 27, 1976.
SECTION 4: All ordinances -,and -parts of ordinances -in. conflict herewith
are, to the extend of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION- 5.; If, any parts of this ordinance. are for :any reason - held to be
invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
