HomeMy WebLinkAboutOvertime Pay51 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE CERTAIN OVERTIME PAY FOR SUPERVISORS AND FOREMEN IN THE CITY'S PUBLIC SERVICE DEPARTMENTS WHEREAS, upon occasion, due prima-rily to inclement weather, it is necessary for the City to require certain supervisors and foremen in the Public Service Departments to perform their appointed duties on Sundays ., and WHEREAS', by virtue of a collective bargaining agreement between the City and AFSCME :Local 1586, non. supervisory Public. Service employees are entitled to double time .pay for all_ overtime work that is required to' be performed. on Sundays, and WHEREAS , the aforesaid supervisors.. and foremen are not members of any collective bargaining group .but the Board of Commissioners desires to - provide to them fair and. equal treatment for their .services rendered .. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD. OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,, KENTUCKY:- . SECTION 1. That the .City Manager. is hereby authorized., to approve pay at the .rate, of two times the base average- hourly rate for any supervisor or foremen in the Public Service Departments of the City of Paducah. who is authorized_ and -directed by the .City-.Manager to report. for work and perform his designated duties upon any Sunday.. - .. _ SECTION 2 . That supervisors and foremen, .entitled to double time .pay under the provisions of Section 1 above , shall receive said pay for only those hours actually worked in the performance of his duties and during those periods as designated by the City Manager . SECTION 3. That department heads shall not be entitled to the over- time payments approved in Section 1 above. SECTION 4.
