At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held on Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at
4:00 p.m., Mayor Paxton presided, and upon call of the roll by the City Clerk, the following
answered to their names: Commissioners Coleman, Guess, Montgomery, Smith and Mayor
Paxton (5).
MOTION
R & F CALLED MEETING NOTICES
Commissioner Montgomery offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the
executed Notices of Called Meeting and the Amended Notices of Called Meeting for 4:00
y p.m., Tuesday, August 3, 2004, be received and filed.
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Guess, Montgomery, Smith and
Mayor Paxton (5).
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Commissioner Guess offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Coleman, that the Board go
into closed session for discussion of matters pertaining to the following topics:
❖ Issues which might lead to the appointment, dismissal, or disciplining of an employee,
as permitted by KRS 61.810(1)(f).
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Guess, Montgomery, Smith and
Mayor Paxton (5).
MOTION
HIRE PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
Commissioner Montgomery offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Smith, that the City
of Paducah hire Earnie Via as Public Works Director.
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Coleman, Guess, Montgomery, Smith and
Mayor Paxton (5).
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
