V Katter, Inc. rezoning reques 229 July 13 197.1 At a regular meeting of the'Boa:rd of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamb in the .City Hall; Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m. on July 13, 1971, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).. Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded- by by Commissioner Fisher, that the reading of the Minutes for June 22 and July 2, 1971 -be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted -on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Black Mrs. Patrick Morello Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry appointing members of the Civic Beautification Board for terms expiring July 5, 1972, be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the claim of Charles E. Kindred in the amount of $436.99 for damages to his 1968 Buick caused by a refuse collection truck striking it on May 19, 1971 be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said amount upon obtaining a complete and final release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the report of the Paducah Planning Commission setting forth its reasons for denying the application of Katter, Inc., for the rezoning of property on the south side of Jefferso Street between 14th and 16th Streets, be received and filed, and I further move that th action by the said Commission in denying the application be approved and affirmed. The following persons be employed as temporary laborers in the Street Division of the Public Works Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour: Lon Burton, Jr. retroactive to June 30, 1971 Henry Lee Gordon, retroactive to June 30, 1971 Albert Newsome, Jr., retroactive to June 30, 1971 Gregory Shaw, retroactive to -July 1, 1971 - Robert Brown, retroactive to July 7, 1971 Arthur L. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the nt executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and Community Program Consultants, Inc. and Florence & Hutcheson, Inc. for the design and engineering services in relation to a waste water treatment plant for secondary treatment, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners. Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Allan Rhodes, Inc. for salE to the City of two (2) 1971 Ford 2 -ton dump trucks for use in the Public Works Depart- . ... i ment, be received and filed. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the Bid of Emulsified Asphalt Company, dated July 2, 1971, for the sale to the City of the City;s requirement of asphalt for the year 1971 to be used in street construction and repair work, be received and filed. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Allan Rhodes, Inc. for sale to the City of a new 1961 4 -door sedan automobile for use by the City Manager, be received and filed.
