Roper File bids nn Fi Dept Pumper 225 July 2, 1971 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:30 P.M. on July 2, 1971, Mayor Cherry preside and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 4:30 P.M. on July 2, 1971, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, as follows: It appearing that a vacancy now exists on the Human Rights Commission, I hereby appoint Lawrence B. Milliken for the term beginning immediately and continuing to April 13, 197: Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the petition of various residents of Elmwood Subdivision on the west side of Schneidman Roac dated June 15, 1971 and addressed to the City Corporation Counsel, requesting that the City change the name of Brooks Street in said subdivision to Alabama Street, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that upon recommendation of the City Manager, I move that the following personnel changes be made: 1. Robert Hall, temporary laborer in the Refuse Division, be terminated, effective June 18, 1971 2. George Harned, Jr. temporary laborer in the Refuse Division, be terminated, effective June 29, 1971. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the Certificate of Insurance issued by National Surety Corporation to the City of Paducah covering work done by E. J. Roper for a period of one year from June 30, 1971, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the following bids for sale to the City of one (1) new pumper for use in the Paducah Fire Department, be received and filed: Midwest Fire and Safety Equipment Co. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the bid of Bobby Butler Concrete Contractor for furnishing material, equipment, tools and labor for concrete work in the City of Paducah, which bid was dated June 23, 1971, be received and filed. Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a Resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN EMPDOYMENT AGREEMENT WITH LARRY E. THOMAS, FOR THE POSITION OF CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. JOHNSON A LEASE TO CERTAIN LAND OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, FRONTING ON THE OHIO RIVER AT TERRELL (NORTHVIEW) STREET", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) NEW 1971 FOUR DOOR, MEDIUM SIZED STATION WAGON FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted.
