HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-8-2423i ORDINANCE NO. 83-8-2423 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY BY THE GOLF COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO WESTERN BAPTIST HOSPITAL, INC., d/b/a WESTERN BAPTIST HOSPITAL, 2501 KENTUCKY AVENUE, PADUCAH, KENTUCKY WHEREAS, due to the widening of Jackson Street by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, property owned by the Golf Commission of the City of Paducah, is no longer suitable for golf course purposes, and WHEREAS, said property was given to the City of Paducah under the condition that it be used for municipal golf course purposes, and WHEREAS, the intent of the grantor can best be carried out by sale of the pro- perty and using the proceeds for municipal golf purposes in the construction of a new maintenance garage. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That for and in consideration of the sum of $260,000 the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does hereby authorize the sale to Western Baptist Hospital, Inc., d/b/a Western Baptist Hospital, a parcel of land lying and being in McCracken:County, Kentucky, and being a portion of the same tract of land conveyed to the City of Paducah by Eloise B. MacDonald, recorded in Deed Book 201, Page 561, dated June 30, 1930, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point in the easterly right-of-way line of Lone Oak Rd (US 45 So.), said point being in the line between the E. M. Bailey property and Paxton Park Golf Course; thence N 1° - 29' W along the easterly right-of-way of Lone Oak Road a distance of 20.70' to a concrete monu- ment; thence along the arc of a curve being the right-of-way line of the intersection of Lone Oak Rd and Jackson Street, N 36° - 33' E along the chord of said curve a distance of 73.41' to a concrete monument; thence N 71° - 02' E along the southerly right -of- way line of Jackson St. a distance of 413.38' to a concrete monument; thence continuing along the southerly right-of-way line of Jackson St. N 70° - 11' E a distance of 132.79' to a concrete monument; thence N 58° -36' E a distance of 69.30' to a concrete monument; thence N 67° -59' E a distance of 101.94' to a concrete monument; thence N 65° 44' E a distance of 101.88' to a concrete monument; thence N 64° -05' E a distance of 101.91' to a concrete monu- ment; thence N 61°-51' E a distance of 68.1 to an iron pin; thence leaving the southerly right of way line of Jackson Street S 420 - 54' E a distance of 337.32' to an iron pin; thence S 17° -05' W a distance of 310.26' to an iron pin; thence S 15° - 48' W a distance of 197.78' to an iron pin; said iron pin being in the line and a corner with Paxton Park Golf Course and Nursing Homes, Inc.; thence N 35° - 58' W along the line with Nursing Homes, Inc. a distance of 185.30 to an Iron Pin; thence N 380 - 00' E a distance of 70.72' to a stone monument; thence S 89° - 56' W along the common line between Paxton Park Golf Course and Nursing Homes, Inc., Paducah, McCracken County Jaycees Bldg. Corp. a distance of 822.48'to an iron pin said pin being in the southeast corner of the C. A. Leutenmayer property; thence N 10° - 41' E along the easterly line of the C. A. Leutenmeyer property and the E. M. Bailey property a distance of 90.34' to an iron pin; thence S 89° - 16' W along the northerly line of the E. M. Bailey property a distance of 154.71 to a concrete monument, the point of beginning. Containing 9.19 acres. Being a part of the property conveyed to the City of Paducah, by deeds dated June 30, 1939, of record in Deed Book 201 page 561, and Deed Book 201 page 563, in the office of the McCracken County Court Clerk. SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to transfer to the Paxton Park Golf Commission, the sum of $$260,000 when said amount is received by the City of Paducah for sale of said property. 665 SECTION 3. In order to finalize the contract with the purchaser and to complete construction of said Golf Course, and emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ord shall be in full force and effect upon its passage at one reading.
