HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-6-2404ORDINANCE NO. 83-6-2404 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 27-12, 27-48, AND 27-49, REFUSE CHARGES, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That Section 27-12 be amended and reordained so that said section as and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Section 27-12. Sanitary Landfill - Use Charge. Private collectors authorized to collect refuse in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and private commercial collectors operating within the limits of McCracken County, Kentucky, shall be licensed upon their application to the City Treasurer to dispose of collected waste and refuse at the City's sanitary landfill upon the purchase of a dumping license as follows: (a) For vehicles capable of carrying eight (8) cubic yards or less, there shall be a dumping fee of 46-48 $7.60 per entry into the landfill for the purpose of dumping refuse; (b) For vehicles with a load capacity from eight (8) -yards up to and including sixteen (16) yards, a dumping fee of X12-30 $15.20 per entry into the landfill for the purpose of dumping refuse; (c) For vehicles with a capacity from sixteen (16) up to and including twenty (20) cubic yards, a dumping fee of $16 -AA $19.00 per entry into the landfill for the purpose of dumping refuse; (d) For vehicles with a capacity from twenty (20) yards up to and including thirty (30) yards, a fee of $24-9A $28.50 per entry line into the landfill for the purpose of dumping refuse; (e) For vehicles with a capacity from thirty (30) yards up to and including forty (40) yards, a fee of $32-88 $38.00 per entry into the landfill for the purpose of dumping refuse; (f) For all vehicles with a capacity in excess of forty (40) cubic yards, the dumping fee shall be negotiated with the City Manager. (g) The foregoing license fees shall be paid to the City Treasurer who shall issue coupon booklets to the licensee based on size of vehicle. Individual coupons shall be collected by city employees at the landfill and returned periodically to the City Treasurer for verification of records. SECTION 2. That Section 27-48 be amended and reordained so that saidsection as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Section 27-48. Rates - Normal service. There is hereby levied a refuse collection service charge of e}gh-een9-{$6-28}----------- Six Dollars and twenty-eight cents ($6.28) per month on each household and each business place in the City for the purpose of increasing the revenue of the general fund out of which shall be met the costs of providing refuse collection service; provided that households of which the lawful..head is unable to afford such charge, as certified b3 a social agency as authorized by the City, may be exempt from such charge. SECTION 3. That Section 27-49 be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall hereafter read as follows: "Section 27-49. Same - Additional Service - Generally.
