HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-5-2384602 ORDINANCE NO. 83-5-2384 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY TREASURER TO CLOSE THE CITY OF PADUCAH IMPROVEMENT FUND "G", "H", "K" AND "L" AND TRANSFER SAID FUND BALANCES TO THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, certain street improvement bonds and street improvement levies had mature dates ranging from 1932 to 1941, and WHEREAS, all the outstanding bonds on those improvements have not been tendered to the City of Paducah for payment, and WHEREAS, the statutes of limitation has run against the payment of said bonds, and WHEREAS, it is no longer necessary to maintain the City of Paducah Improvement Fund "G", "H", "K" AND "L" Accounts. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH: SECTION 1. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to close City of Paducah Im- provement Fund "G" in the sum of $1,105.61, Fund "H" in the sum of $1,268.17, Fund "K" in the amount of $2,278.81, and Fund "L" in the amount of $7,697.46 and transfer the balances in those accounts, totaling $12,350.05 to the General Fund of the City of Paducah. SECTION 2. The City Treasurer is further authorized to pay from the General Fund of the City of Paducah, upon proper presentation, any outstanding bond and accrued interest that would have been paid from said City of Paducah Improvement funds enumerated above, except for this ordinance. SECTION 3. In order to transfer these funds to the General Fund of the City of Paducah as rapidly as possible, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon passage at one reading by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah.
