HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-7-2276396 ORDINANCE NO. 82-7-2276 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (a.3) OF SECTION 2-21, VACATION LEAVE GENERALLY OF THE CODE OF -ORDINANCES -OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY QBE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: - SECTION 1. That Subsection (a.3) of Section 2-21, Vacation Leave Generally of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said subsection shall hereafter read as follows: ".(a..3). Members of the fire department working shifts of twenty-four (24) hours on duty,_;and forty- eight- _-(48) hours off duty who have less than. fifteen (15) years of continuous service with the department, and were with the department prior to July 1, 1980, shall accrue vacation at the annual rate six. -f6) seven (7) work days; all other members of the fire department working shifts of -twenty-four (24) hours on duty -and forty-eight (48) hours off duty shall accrue vacation as follows: Members who have less than three (3) years service with the department, at the -annual rate of fete {4) five (5) work days; members who have successfully -completed more than three (3). years but less than ten (10) years -ser -vice with the department, at the annual rate of -fire -{5} six (6) working days; members who have -success- fully completed more than ten (10) years but less than fifteen (15) years service with the department, at the annual rate of six -f6) seven (7) working days; members who have successfully completed more than fifteen (15) years but less than twenty (20) years service with the department, at the annual rate of sures-f-7} eight (8) working days; members who have successfully completed more than twenty (20) years but less than_ twenty-five; (25);;,yeaxs. service with the department, at the annual rate of eight -(8) nine (9) working days; and members who have successfully completed more than twenty-five (25) years of service with the department, at the annual rate of Rise -(9) ten (10) working days. A work day as used in this section shall mean a twenty -four- hour period. Such vacation shall be taken with the approval and consent of the fire chief. Vacation pay shall be computed at the average pay the employee would receive for the period of time covered by the vacation based on an average work week of fifty-six (56) hours. Members with less than ten (10) complete years of service shall not be allowed to accumulate vacation time. Vacation time must be taken as scheduled each year. Each member who has completed ten (10) years of service may aeepxe accumulate up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) days of vacation at any one time." SECTION 2. This ordinance is retroactive to July 1, 1982. 397 SECTION 3. In order to implement the amended vacation rate, an emergency is.declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon. its passage at -.one reading.
