HomeMy WebLinkAbout82-7-2273392 ORDINANCE NO. 82-7-2273 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUB -SECTION (e) OF SECTION 25-1, SUB -SECTION (e) OF SECTION 25-1.1 AND SECTION 25-2 OF CHAPTER 25, POLICE, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That. Sub -section (e) of Chapter 25, Police, of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah be amended so that said Sub -section shall hereafter read as follows: °'(e) All members of the department shall receive an initial clothing allowance of $200.00 and in the event such member shall fail to serve in the de- partment for more than seventy-five (75) days, all clothing purchased with the initial clothing allowance shall be returned to the department. The department shall furnish all leather items of equipment, except shoes, which items shall remain the property of the department and shall -be returned to the department upon the departure of a member from the department for any reason other than retirement. Each officer will receive $125.00 per man in clothing allowance to be distributed in June of each year, beginning in June, 1983." SECTION 2. That"Sub-section (e) of Section 25-1.1, Monetary incentive and educational and training programs, -be amended -and reordained so that said sub -section shall hereafter read as follows: "(e) -In-service training course required. Each officer, whether origin- ally employed before or after July 1, 1972, shall successfully complete each year an in-service training course of forty (40) hours duration appropriate to his rank and responsibility at a school certified -or recognized by -the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council. Each officer engaged in in-service trainingshall receive compensatory time for regularly scheduled off -days lost due to in-service training. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be retroactive to July 1, 1982. 393 SECTION 5. In order to implement all monetary changes at the same time, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage at one reading. John K.
