ORDINANCE NO. 82-5-2237
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH
PADUCAH CABLE COMMUNICATIONS AUTHORITY AND THE PADUCAH PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM TO
OPERATE THE GOVERNMENTAL ACCESS CHANNEL ON CABLE TV, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
TO TERMINATE THE EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH THE PADUCAH PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF
TRUSTEES
WHEREAS, the Paducah Public Library Board of Trustees, on
March 1, 1982, requested the City to rescind the agreement among the Library,
Authority and City, and
WHEREAS, Paducah Cable Communications Authority has the function and
power to coordinate the franchisee's consulting services to facilitate
government, educational, community groups and individual use of the public
channels, and
WHEREAS, the Paducah Cable Communications authority has requested
that a new agreement be entered into between the City and the Paducah Public
School System.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor be authorized to enter into an Agreement
with the Paducah Public Library Board of Trustees terminating the contractural
relationship heretofore existing between the City and the Paducah Public
Library Board of Trustees.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized to enter
into an Agreement with Paducah Cable Communications Authority and the Paducah
Public School System, said Agreement is'attached hereto and made a part hereof
as if set out in full herein.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and
will be effective upon publication of title and'a certified summary thereof.
