HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-8-2141162 ORDINANCE NO. 81-81 2141 AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY LYING ADJACENT TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF THE TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED, AND DECLARING THE DESIRABILITY AND NECESSITY OF SUCH ANNEXATION WHEREAS, KRS 81A.420 provides that a City must annex unincorporated territory, and WHEREAS, the hereinafter described tract of land is owned by Paducah Highland Terrace Ltd. and said owner being the only owner thereof, and WHEREAS, the aforesaid owner has requested that the City of Paducah proceed to annex the hereinafter described land and consents to said annexation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. It is hereby proposed that certain land lying adjacent and contiguous'to the corporate limits, more particularly described hereinafter, be annexed to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and that said property so proposed to be annexed is accurately described as follows: The property is more thoroughly described as being a parcel of land lying east of U.S. Highway 62, south of and adjacent to Old North -Friendship Road, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point located where the westerly line of the herein described property intersects the northerly right-of-way line of the Old North Friendship Road, said right-of-way line being the present city limit line of the City of Paducah, said point o.f.inters.ect.ion-being located 1440+' east of the center line of U.S. Highway 62, as measured along the center line of said Old.North Friendship Road, said -point of intersection being further described as being located N. 03° - 29' W., 51.65' from the northwest corner of the tract of land shown by plat of record in Plat Section "H", Page 326 of the McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence from the point of beginning S 780 - 59' E. and with the northerly right-of-way line of said Old North Friendship Road 506.311; thence S 03° - 29' E., leaving said north right-of-way line and crossing said road, 810.15' to a point in the north line of the land of Clyde B. Stevens of record in Deed Book 438, Page 253 of the aforesaid clerk's office, said point being located N 88° -- 14' W., 350.0' from the intersection of the original Clyde B. Stevens north line with the west right-of-way line of Old North Friendship Road; thence N. 88° - 14' W. and along Stevens' north line 492.251; thence leaving said line, N. 03° - 29' W., 891.88' to the point of .beginning. The above described property contains 9.58 acres. Bearings in the previous description are based upon those as shown on the plat of record in Plat Section "H", Page 326 of the McCracken County Court Clerk's office. SECTION 2. It is hereby declared that extending the boundary of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof is desirable and necessary. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published in The Paducah Sun, a newspaper in Paducah, Kentucky, as provided for and required by the Kentucky Revised Statutes, and the extension of the city limits as herein proposed shall not become effective until the adoption of an ordinance annexing the property described in Section 1 hereof, and such ordinance shall not be adopted until after publication of this ordinance as provided herein and until the expiration of a period of sixty days after the enactment of this ordinance. 163 SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
