ORDINANCE NO. 81-3-2073
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10-52, 10-53, 10-54, 10-55, 10-56,
10-59, 1040, 10-61 AND 101-65, CIVIL SERVICE OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH,- KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED -BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 10-52 of the Code of Ordinances of the..City-of
Paducah, Kentucky., be amended. and reordained so that said section as amended- and
reordained shall hereafter read as follows: - =
"Sec. 10-52. Street department - generally.
(a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the
Street Department, and the salaries of each position that shall be paid upon satis-
factory completion of consecutive years of service, in this position, and upon recom-
mendation of the City Manager:
(b) All other positions of hourly employment shall be paid at the base
hourly rate for the first six months of employment, and at the expiration of six
months the rate of pay shall be increased by $0.05 per hour, such increases to be
made upon recommendation of the City Manager".

SECTION 2. That Section 10-53 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and
reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 10-53. Refuse Department.
(a) 'There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the
Refuse (sanitation) department, and the salary of each position that shall be paid -
upon satisfactory completion --of, consecutive years of service, --in this position, and
upon recommendation of thee. -City Manager:

(c) Collectors
assigned to operate vehicular collection equipment shall; -be -_
assigned on . the- basis of . seniority and qualifications and shall receive an additional
$0.10 per hour for hours worked in the operation of the vehicles.
(d) All other positions of hourly employment, except Class "A" truck drivers,
shall be paid at the base hourly rate for the first six months of employment; and at
the expiration,,of six months the: -rate of pay shall be increased by $0.05 per hour; such
increases.- to,, be -made upon recommendation of the City Manager" -
_SECTION 3. That- ..S-ection.l0-54 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and
reordained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec.- -10-54. Cemetery, Department.
(a) There is hereby, authorized and created the following positions in the
Cemetery Department, and the salary of each position that shall be paid upon satis-
factory completion of consecutive years of service, in this position, and upon
recommendation of the City Manager:

(b)' Laborers' -shall' be paid at the rate of $5.81 per hour for the first six
months of employment; at the expiration of six months $5.86 per hour; at the expira-
tion of one year, $5^91 per hour; and at the expiration of two years, $5.96 per hour,
such increases to be made upon recommendation of the city manager.
(c) All other positions of hourly employment shall be paid at the base
hourly rate for -the -first six months of employment; and at the expiration of six months
the rate of pay shall be increased Eby $0.05 per hour; such increases to be made upon
recommendation of' the City Manager"'.
SECTION- 4. That Section 10-55 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and

(b) The chief inspector shall perform the duties formerly performed
by the
building inspector and the electrical inspector, and said building and electrical inspector
shall, be under the direct__' supervision of the city manager.
(c) Maintenance _positions shall be paid at the base
hourly rate for
the first
six_ months of employjent_, and at the expiration of six months
the rage, of -.pay-,

increased. by $0.05 per, hour, such increases to be made upon
recommendatiorn

(d) Janitor and laborer positions shall be paid at the base hourly rate
for the
first six months of employment; at the expiration of six months there may be an
increase
of $0.05 * per hour; at iher-expiration of one year there may be
an additional increase of
$0.05 per,. hour;., -and,. at -'the expiration of two years there may
be an additional
increase
of, $0.05 per hour, such increases to be made upon recommendation of the _city„manager.

(e) The chief of the maintenance division may designate one employee in
his department to act as a lead -man or
part-time working foreman to serve in such
capacity at the direction of the chief of
the maintenance division, or at
such times
as the chief of the maintenance division
is on leave. The employee so
designated shall
be paid an additional $0.15 per hour during such times as the employee designated
actually serves in such capacity.
SECTION .9. That Section 10-65, Community Development, be and it is
hereby, amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained
shall hereafter read as follows:
