HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-2-2053ORDINANCE NO. 81-2-2053 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A LEASE WITH THE KENTUCKY DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF CORRECTIONS WHEREAS, the Kentucky Bureau of Corrections is in need of space to house prison inmates, and WHEREAS, until such time as a new facility can be built said Bureau of Corrections must find temporary housing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH , KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the Mayor be authorized to enter into a Lease with the Kentucky Department of Justice, Bureau of Corrections, for lease of 4412 square feet of space located in the basement of Paducah City Hall, more commonly referred to as the Paducah City Jail. SECTION 2. The Lease to be entered into is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if set out in full herein. SECTION 3. Due to the necessity of relocating prisoners as soon as possible because of over crowding, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
