Home My WebLink About84-10-2602186 ®1 ORDINANCE NO. 84-10-2602 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY FOR THE BENEFIT OF PADUCAH WATER WORKS WHEREAS, 0rdinance'No._84-8-2570 was adopted by the Board of'Commissioners on.August 28, 1984, approving the Resolution of the Commissioners of Water Works of the City of Paducah declaring property located at 221 South First Street, 229 Madison Street and.two tracts at North Third. Street, Harrison Street and the I -24 -Loop in the City of Paducah no longer suitable or necess:ar-y:to .the�'operation:'of. the Water Works; and -WHEREAS-, Resolution of the Commissioners of Water. Works -dated October 17, 1984, recommended the City of Paducah accept the offer;of Mr. Paul Walker dated October 12, 1984,,to purchase 'surplus property, Tract No. 1, 229 Madison Street, and Tract No. 2, Third and Harrison Streets, for the sum of One Hundred Eighty Thousand ($180,000.00) Dollars; and WHEREAS, the -Commissioners_ of. Water. Works -have declared the proceeds from the sale of this property.are needed -to -continue the efficient operation:of the Water Works,. and that it would be in the best public interest to sell same; and WHEREAS, said property is presently owned by the City of Paducah, Kentucky on behalf of Paducah Water Works. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF-PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby accepts the offer of Paul Walker dated October 12, 1984, to purchase for the sum of One Hundred Eighty Thousand ($180,000.00) --Dollars the real property, more particularly described by plats attached hereto and incorporated herein as if set out in full. SECTION 2. The City of Paducah hereby authorizes and directs the Mayor to execute and the Corporation Counsel to approve all deeds and any other documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance and further authorizes the proceeds from this sale to be deposited in the General Fund Account of Paducah Water Works. SECTION 3. In order to close the sale of the above-described property as soon as possible so the purchaser can begin construction of the project before the onset of inclement weather, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance will be effective upon one reading.
