AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A TRAFFIC AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY"AND THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY TRANSPORTATION CABINET, DEPARTMENT OF
HIGHWAYS REGARDING.TRAFFIC.AND SAFETY REGULATION ON -OLD MAYFIELD ROAD -(KY 994) PROJECT
WHEREAS, The Kentucky -Department of Transportation; Bureau of Highways, has made a
survey and -prepared plans on Highway Project KY 994 in -.the City of Paducah, Kentucky, described
as follows: _ ....
A bridge replacement project -on Old Mayfield..Roa& (KY 9.94) over the Paducah and
Illinois Railroad, which also includes the relocation of Berger Road (KY 1310), at
the junction with Old Mayfield Road (KY 994)
WHEREAS,:.the City and the Department of Highways wish to assure. -the preferential,
safe and efficient movement of traffic on the completed.street and prevent local speed.
restrictions not in keeping with the through traffic service to be .provided by the highway
proj ect;
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. .That.the-City recognizes that certain traffic regulations will be
required by the construction of the project within the city limits and hereby grants the Mayor
authority to enter into a contract (designated as TD 11-39) on behalf of the City with the
Department of Highways, putting into effect the provisions of this section.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement with the
Department of Highways, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein as if set
out in full.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on'two separate days and will be effective
upon publication and a certified summary thereof.
