AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES RELATING TO SUSPECTED OR ALLEGED
DISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF HANDICAPPED STATUS IN THE CITY OF..P.ADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS; the Federal Revenue :Sharing Program regulations and Section 504 of the
Rehabilitation Act of 1973 prohibits discrimination on the basis of handicapped status in
programs. of..Federal financial assistance, and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the. City of Paducah,. Kentucky to promote_ equal...
opportunity with respect to its programs funded with_Federal funds, and.,
:WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, Kentucky, does not discriminate on the basis of
hand.icappe,d.. status in admission or access to, or treatment or -employment in, its programs or
activities,as defined in the Federal Revenue Sharing Program regulations (51.51,1).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The attached procedures -.shall be,the "grievance procedures" for anyone
who believes he or she has, been discriminated against -by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, based
on handicapped status with respect to Federally funded programs. -,-
SECTION 2. The administration of, these procedures and related Federal and State
Regulations shall be the responsibility of the Safety Officer of Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 3. These procedures may be amended by ordinance .to comply with court
directives or additional Federal and State.Regulations..,.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective
upon publication of title and a certified.summary thereof.
