HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-7-2542113 ORDINANCE NO. 84-7-2542 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE FROM CARGILL SALT COMPANY OF UP TO 150 TONS OF SALT AT A PRICE OF $24.85 PER TON WHEREAS, the City may purchase from vendors with state contracts, and WHEREAS, the present bid price to the State of Kentucky for salt is $29.27, and WHEREAS, this represents a potential savings of $6.00 per ton to the City of Paducah by accepting this small quantity at a reduced price. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah authorize the purchase from Cargill r Salt Company of up to 150 tons of salt, for the sum of $24.85 per ton. F.O.B. Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Cargill Salt Company for the salt as authorized in Section 1 above. SECTION 3. This contract is for a reduced price that affords the City a savings and therefore competitive bidding is waived. SECTION 4. The purchase price for said salt shall be charged to Account No. 10-500-330-312. SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
