ORDINANCE NO. 84-7-2538
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 7-30 AND 7-37, BUILDINGS AND BUILDING
REGULATIONS OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS, on the 4th.day of June, 1994, the Electrical Review Board recommended
that the City not allow the use of Romex cable in commercial establishments within the
City, -and 1
WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah presently allows the
use of Romex cable except in the inner fire zone,
I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 7-30 of the Code of Ordinances be amended to read as
"Sec. 7-30. Metallic tubing or rigid conduit required in business
buildings eat-tah-€}tee-�m#s-.
All wiring shall be installed in electrical metallic tubing or rigid conduit
in the inner and outer fire limits of the city in all business buildings; provided,
however, such tubing and -or conduit shall not be required if the Building and Electrical
Inspector finds that other wiring methods wetild will not create a hazard and authorizes
the use of such other wiring methods in writing".
SECTION 2. That Section 7-37, Inspection Fees, be, and it is hereby, deleted
in its entirely.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
