HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-6-2535102 ORDINANCE NO. 84-6-2535 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AMENDMENT OF AGREEMENT WITH PRO- FESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS OF PADUCAH, LOCAL 168, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS, AMENDING AN AGREEMENT ENTERED INTO ON SEPTEMBER 1, 1978. WHEREAS, THE City of Paducah and Professional Firefighters of Paducah, Local 168, International Association of Firefighters, hereinafter referred to as "Union", entered into an agreement on September 1, 1978,- and WHEREAS, the City and Union amended the contract by entering into an -Amendment to Contract on the 30th day of June, 1980, to become effective on July 1, 1980, and WHEREAS, the City. and Union entered into contract negotiations during 1982 and reached an agreement thereto, which agreement has never been committed to writing, but has been followed by both the City and Union, and WHEREAS, said agreement called for a negotiation of wages during the year 1984. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT_ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the.Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Local 168, International Association of Firefighters, granting a three percent (3%) salary increase, effective July 1, 1984. SECTION 2. All other terms and -conditions of the agreement entered into between Local 168, International Association of Firefighters and the City of Paducah, dated September 1, 1978, and all prior amendments thereto shall remain in full force and effect unless they are specifically amended by this or subsequent ordinance of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 3. In order for these raises to be effective July 1, 1984, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be effective upon its passage with one reading.
