ORDINANCE NO. 84-6-2529
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF AN EXISTING ALLEY AND TO
DEDICATE AN ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN ADAMS AND CLARK STREETS, EAST OF LONE OAK ROAD
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing of a portion
of an alley and to dedicate an alley located between Adams and Clark Streets, east of Lone Oak
Road, and more particularly described as follows:
ALLEY TO BE DEDICATED:
Beginning at a point where the northerly right-of-way line of an existing
alley, 15 feet in width;. -intersects the westerly line, if extended, of Lot 34
of the Schmaus Addition to the City of Paducah, said point being located
165.00 feet north of the southwest corner of said Lot 34, as measured along
said westerly line and an extension thereof, said southwest lot corner being
located on the northerly right-of-way line of Adams Street, a distance of
510.00 feet northeast of the point of intersection of said right-of-way line
with the easterly right-of-way line of the Lone Oak Road; thence from the
point of beginning in a northwesterly direction and with an extension of the
westerly line of the aforesaid Lot 34, a distance of 35.00 feet; thence in a
northeasterly direction on a line parallel with the northerly line of the
aforesaid existing alley and with an interior angle of 890 54' 57", a
distance of 555.18 feet to a point on the southerly line of Block 30 of the
West End Improvement Company Addition to the City of Paducah; thence in an
easterly direction with said southerly line and with an interior angle of
1710 39' 59", a distance of 51.06 feet to a point located on the existing
northerly right-of-way line of Adams Street; thence in a southwesterly
direction with said northerly right-of-way line and with an interior angle of
08 047' 28", a distance of 109.59 feet to a bend in said right-of-way line;
thence in a southeasterly direction continuing6 with the right-of-way line of
said street and with an interior angle of 267 33' 34", a distance of 26.74
feet to a point on the northerly right-of-way line of the aforesaid 15 foot
wide alley; thence in a southwesterly direction with the northerly right-
of-way line of said alley and with an interior angle of 910 58' 59", a
distance of 495.14 feet to the point of beginning, the first and last lines
herein described forming an interior angle of 900 05' 03".
ALLEY TO BE CLOSED
Beginning at a point where the westerly line of the herein described alley
intersects the northerly right -of way line of Adams Street, said point being
located 340.00 feet northeast of the point of intersection of said northerly
right-of-way line of Adams Street with the easterly right-of-way line of the
Lone Oak Road, said street and road having rights-of-way widths of 50 feet
and 60 feet respectively, said measurement being along the northerly right-
of-way line of Adams Street; thence from the point of beginning, leaving
Adams Street in a northwesterly direction and with the westerly line of the
herein described property 186.44 feet to a point on the southerly line of the
property of the City of Paducah as described in Deed Book 622, Page 7 of the
McCracken County Court Clerk's office; thence in a northeasterly direction
with said southerly line and with an interior angle of 900 25' 47", a
distance of 20.00 feet; thence leaving said southerly line in a southeasterly
direction and with an interior angle of 890 34' 13", a distance of 21.62 feet
to a point on the northerly line of an alley having a right-of-way width of
15 feet; thence in a northeasterly direction with said northerly line and
with an interior angle of 2690 54' 57", a distance of 150.00 feet to a point
located on the westerly line, if extended, of Lot 34 of the aforesaid Schmaus
Addition; thence in a southeasterly direction and with an interior angle of
90 005' 03", a distance of 15.00 feet to the northwesterly corner of the
aforesaid Lot 34; thence in a southwesterly direction with the northerly line
of Lots 35, 36 and 37 of said addition and with an interior angle of 890 54'
57", a distance of 150.00 feet to the northwesterly corner of said Lot 37;
thence in a southeasterly direction with the westerly line of said Lot 37 and
with an interior angle of 2700 05' 03", a distance of 150.00 feet to a point
on the northerly right-of-way line of the aforesaid Adams Street; thence in a
southwesterly direction with said right-of-way line and with an interior
angle of 890 54' 57", a distance of 20.00 feet to the point of beginning, the
first and last lines herein described forming an interior angle of 900 05'
03".
SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and he
is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute and prosecute, pursuant to KRS
82.405, an action in the McCracken Circuit Court for a judgment ordering the closing of the
alley described in Section 1 above.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective
upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
