ORDINANCE NO. 84-6-2528
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10-49, 10-51, 10-52, 10-53,
10-54, 10-55, 10-56,
10-58, 10-59, 10-60, AND 10-61, 10-63, AND 10-65, "CIVIL SERVICE" OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 10-49 of
the Code of Ordinances of
the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, be amended and reordained so that
said section as amended and reordained shall
hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 10-49. Department of finance.
This department shall be under the
direction and supervision.
of the city treasurer - finance director,
a noncivil service
position which has heretofore been
created by separate ordi-
nance.
(a) There is hereby created and
authorized the following positions in the de-
partment of finance, and the salary of each
position that shall be paid upon satisfactory
completion of consecutive years of service,
in this position, and upon
recommendation of the
City Manager:

(b) For such period of time as the
City of Paducah receives
and must account for
general revenue sharing funds and any special
revenue sharing funds from
the United States
Government, the auditor and bookkeeper shall be
compensated for their
extra services in an
amount as follows: Auditor $38709 $41.00 per month €ai--tke-}peer-1988 effective July 1, 1984,
and $40700 $42.00 per month few -tow-- -ye-&r--1983
effective July 1, 1984.

$27.00 per month effective July 1, 1984, and 486709
$28.00 per month for
tieeg-1188---- effective July 1, 1985. Any
of the foregoing positions in subsection (a)
may hereafter from time to time be designated
for payment from said revenue sharing funds
upon motion duly passed by the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Paducah".
SECTION 2. That Section 10-51 of
the Code of Ordinances
of the City of
Paducah, Kentucky, be amended and reordained
so that said section as
amended and reor-
dained shall hereafter read as follows:
"Sec. 10-51. Engineering Department.

(b) The chief of the maintenance division may designate one employee in his depart-
ment to act as a lead man or part-time working foreman to serve in such capacity at the di-
rection of the chief of the maintenance division, or at such times as the chief of the
maintenance division is on leave. The employee so designated shall be paid an additional
$0.15 per hour during such times as the employee designated actually serves in such capacity.
SECTION 12. That Section 10-63, Fire Department Switchboard Operator and Clerk -
typist, be amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained shall here-
after read as follows:
"Sec. 10-63. Fire Department Switchboard Operator & Clerk -typist.
(a) There is hereby authorized and created the following positions in the Fire
Marshal's office, and the salary of each position that shall be paid upon satisfactory com-

(b) The duties of the switchboard operator shall be to operate the switchboard
fire alarm equipment at the central fire station and perform all other necessary services and
functions in connection therewith. The switchboard operator shall be under the supervision
of the Chief of the Fire Department. The switchboard operator shall not thereby become a
member of the Fire Department".

SECTION 14. In order for these raises to be effective July 1, 1984, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be effective upon its passage with one
reading.
