HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-2-2483ORDINANCE NO. 84-2-2483 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER BY QUIT CLAIM DEED OF A STRIP OF LAND TO PADUCAH JUNIOR COLLEGE, A KENTUCKY NONPROFIT AND EDUCATIONAL CORPORATION WHEREAS, the City of Paducah owns property located in the midst of a tract of land owned by the Paducah Junior College on Blandville Road, U. S. Highway 62, and WHEREAS, said property is an abandoned cemetery and the City of Paducah has no further need for said property, and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of Paducah Junior College P. 0. Box 7380, Paducah, Kentucky, has determined it would be in the best interest of Paducah Junior College to own said property, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby agrees to transfer to Paducah Junior College, a Kentucky nonprofit and educational Corporation, the property located in the midst of a tract of land owned by the Paducah Junior College on Blandville Road, U. S. Highway 62; and the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute a deed from the City of Paducah, said property more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a stone in the South line of the Blandville Road marking the southeast corner of a tract of land conveyed by W. M. Carson and his wife, to the Paducah Junior College (See deed dated November 10, 1961, and recorded in Deed Book 429, page 312) ; thence South 4 degrees 33 minutes East 537.8 feet to a stone; thence South 85 degrees 27 minutes West 119.6 feet to a stone; thence North 11 degrees 33 minutes West 264.0 —feet to a stone; thence North 85 degrees 27 minutes East 135.3 feet to a stone; thence North 4 degrees 33 minutes West 270 feet to a point in the South line of the Blandville Road; thence North 64 degrees 54 minutes East 16.5+ feet to the point of beginning, containing one (1) acre according to Plat of Survey dated December 11, 1961, by Hollis & Griggs". Being the same property -conveyed to the City of Paducah by Judgment of McCracken Circuit Court, Civil Action No. 83 -CI -078, dated the 23rd day of January, 1984. SECTION 2. The Corporation Counsel is authorized to draw all deeds and any other documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of this ordinances. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective upon publication of title and a certified copy thereof.
