ORDINANCE NO. 84-2-2472
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILSON CHEVROLET-CADILLAC, INC. FOR SALE TO THE
CITY OF A 1984 CHEVROLET CAPRICE, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH
PURCHASE
follows:
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah on January 23, 1984 received automobile bids as
Gardner's River City Buick
Allan Rhodes Honda -Chrysler
Wilson Chevrolet -Cadillac, Inc.
Beardsley Chevrolet Co.
Tommy Blair, Inc.
Paducah Ford, Inc.
WHEREAS, the subject automobile is to be for the use and benefit of the Mayor's
office and Mayor Joe Viterisi has personally examined each of the models as submitted by the
aforesaid bidders and has found that the 1984 Chevrolet Caprice is the model that most nearly
accommodates his needs; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, are of the
opinion that the 1984 Chevrolet Caprice will have a higher trade-in value after the expected
usage of the automobile by the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and
WHEREAS, in order for the City to obtain the aforesaid 1984 Chevrolet Caprice at a
price that is reasonably competitive with the other models that were submitted for con-
sideration, Mayor Joe Viterisi has offered to donate to the City of Paducah the cash sum of
$318.30 to be applied to the purchase of the aforesaid 1984 Chevrolet Caprice to be used by
the Mayor's office; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City 'of Paducah, Kentucky, are of the
opinion that as a result of the circumstances set forth above, it would be in the best
interest of the City that the bid of Wilson Chevrolet -Cadillac, Inc., be accepted and applied
toward the purchase price.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the bid of Wilson Chevrolet -
Cadillac, Inc. for sale to the City of Paducah of a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice for the sum of
$9,671.12; said bid meeting or exceeding the requirements in the advertisement for bids which
were authorized by a Municipal Order passed by the Board of Commissioners on January 10, 1984,
and as contained in the bid of Wilson Chevrolet -Cadillac, dated January 23, 1984.
SECTION 2. That the aforesaid automobile shall be for the use and benefit of the
Mayor's office and that by reason of the circumstances more particularly set forth above, the
City of Paducah, Kentucky, accept the donation by Mayor Joe Viterisi of the cash sum of
$318.30 to be applied to the purchase price of the 1984 Chevrolet Caprice as bid by Wilson
Chevrolet -Cadillac, Inc.
SECTION 3. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Wilson Chevrolet -
Cadillac, Inc., for the purchase by the City of Paducah of a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice according
to the terms and conditions as more particularly set forth above.
SECTION 4. The purchase price for said automobile shall be charged to Account No.
20-500-150-494.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
