HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-2-2465ORDINANCE NO. 84-2-2465 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE FROM CARGILR SALT COMPANY OF UP TO 500 TONS OF SALT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST WHEREAS, the City has used an unusual amount of salt this season due to bad weather, and WHEREAS, the State contract could not supply our needs and Cargilo Salt Company is the only supplier with an available supply, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah authorize the purchase from Cargilo Salt Company of up to 500 tons of salt, for not more than $26.00 per ton F.O.B. Paducah, Kentucky. SECTION 2. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Cargilo Salt Company for up to 500 tons of salt as authorized in Section 1 above, and since this is the only source for procurement, the advertising of bids is hereby waived. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said salt shall be charged to Account No. 10-500-330-312. SECTION 4. Due to the time of year and previous weather conditions, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage with one reading.
