ORDINANCE NO. 85-6-2689
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF APPROXIMATELY $51,000 PLUS UP TO 10%
CONTINGENCY TO B. G. WAID CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE JONQUILAWN
SUBDIVISION SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, this procurement was made under the competitive negotiations requirements
of Section 26.15 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paducah, Kentucky; and
WHEREAS, this procurement is based on formal quotations submitted by five
contractors on June 10, 1985; and
WHEREAS, quotations were based on as -built -specifications for the system as
enhanced by the City of Paducah Engineering Department; and
WHEREAS, this emergency is occasioned by the collapse of a portion of the main
sewer line in the system.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the Mayor enter into an emergency contract with B. G. Waid
Construction Company for the sum of approximately $51,000, plus up to 10% contingency based
on changes approved by the City Engineer's Office, for emergency repairs to the Jonquilawn
Subdivision sanitary sewer system. A copy of this contract is attached hereto and
incorporated in full as if set out herein.
SECTION 2. That the Sewer Depreciation and -Extension Fund Account shall be
charged with the aforesaid expenditure.
SECTION 3. Due to the emergency nature of the problem and the need to
immediately commence repairs to the system, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage with one reading.
