AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH McCRACKEN COUNTY TO
EXTEND THE LEASE ON THE SANITARY LANDFILL THROUGH AUGUST 31, 1992
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah and County of McCracken entered into a lease on the 28th
day of August, 1972, in which McCracken County leased one hundred (100) acres of land to the
City of Paducah for a period of ten (10) years, for the purposes of a sanitary landfill; and
WHEREAS, said formal lease expired on the 28th day of August, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Kentucky Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection
have requested the City and County to extend said lease so that the City will have the responsi-
bility for maintaining proper drainage, grading, etc. on the landfill site.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
SECTION 1. That the Corporation Counsel is hereby authorized to draft an extension
of the lease entered into on the 28th day of August, 1972, by and between McCracken County and
the City of Paducah for a period to expire August 31, 1992, and the Mayor is hereby authorized
to execute said Extension of Lease as approved by the Corporation Counsel.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effec-
tive upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
