Home My WebLink About86-7-2880618 ORDINANCE NO. 86-7-2880 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CLOSING OF A PORTION OF NORTH 7TH STREET BETWEEN PARK AVENUE AND ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD WHEREAS, Jim Anderson has requested that the right-of-way known as North 7th Street be closed; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission approved this closing on June 16, 1986; and WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners finds that this right-of-way is unimproved and is not needed as a public right-of-way. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing of a portion of North 7th Street between Park Avenue and the Illinois Central Railroad, which is more parti- cularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the north side of Park Avenue, said point being the southeast corner of the Jim Anderson property and being the northeast corner of Park Avenue and North 7th Street; thence in a westerly direction along Park Avenue to a point in the northwest corner of Park Avenue and North 7th Street a distance of 60 feet; thence in a northerly direction along the east property line of the Higdon property (Old Town Tavern) and the west right-of-way line of North 7th Street a distance of 160 feet to a point in the northwest corner of North 7th Street and the ICG Railroad property; thence in an easterly direction to a point in the northeast corner of North 7th Street and the ICG Railroad property a distance of 60 feet; thence in a southerly direction along the east right-of-way line of North 7th Street and being the west property line of the Jim Anderson property a distance of 160 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. The Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be, and he is hereby, authorized, empowered and directed to institute and prosecute, pursuant to KRS 82.405, an action in McCracken Circuit Court for a judgment ordering the closing of the street described in Section 1 above. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
