ORDINANCE NO. 86-7-2874
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN OPTION TO LEASE
APPROXIMATELY 91 ACRES:OF REAL ESTATE FROM GRAVES COUNTY PAVING, INC.
WHEREAS, the present City -County landfill is almost full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Paducah, with the cooperation of McCracken County, is,
and has been, looking for a new landfill site; and
WHEREAS, Graves County Paving, Inc:. has approximately 91 acres of land
available for lease to the City for operation of a.landfill.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY. OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The Mayor is authorized to enter into an option to lease
approximately 91 acres of land in Graves County, Kentucky, from Graves County Paving,
Inc. Said option shall be approved by the Corporation Counsel and contain the following
provisions:
A. The option shall be for a period of one (1) year.
B. The terms of the lease shall be a ten (10) year period, to
start at the time the option is exercised.
C. The City and County shall pay as rent the sum of Five
Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) per year.
D. The City and County shall pay the sum of One Thousand Dollars
($1,000.00) for the option, which sum shall be credited
against the first year's rent if the option is exercised.
E. The acreage is approximately ninety-one (91) acres.
SECTION 2. This ordinance is conditioned upon McCracken County agreeing to
enter into the option and lease with, on a cooperative, joint venture, with the City of
Paducah.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become
effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
