At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held at the Information Age Park
Resource Center at 9:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2004, Mayor Paxton presided, and upon call of
the roll by the Assistant City Clerk, the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Guess, Smith and Mayor Paxton (3). Commissioner Coleman was absent (1) and
Commissioner Montgomery was late.
MOTION
R & F NOTICES
Commissioner Smith offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Guess, that the Notices of
Called Meeting for the Board of Commissioners for 9:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2004, be
received and filed.
Adopted on call of the roll, yeas, Commissioners Guess, Smith and Mayor Paxton (3).
WORKSHOP
This meeting was held for a Commission Budget Advance.
Commissioner Montgomery arrived at this time (9:30 a.m.).
FUTURE MEETINGS
June 1, 2004 — Decision was made to cancel meeting.
June 8, 2004 - Time change for Commission Meeting on June 8 was discussed and decision
was made to begin meeting at 4:00 p.m.
PAY & CLASSIFICATION STUDY
• Commission had their first review of the Pay and Classification Study performed by
Mercer.
o City Manager recommended that in June they adopt the new grid and raise the
salary of four employees that were below the minimum salary in the Mercer
study.
o City Manager stated that the Performance Evaluation System will be
implemented this fall which will require an increase in next year's budget.
• Mayor suggested a conference call with all the Commissioners would be arranged to
discuss the City Manager's salary.
• Commission gave go-ahead for the City Manager's request for specific raises as
outlined in his memo dated May 27, 2004.
Upon motion the meeting adjourned.
