HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-5-2839562 ORDINANCE NO. 86-5-2839 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE COMPANY, INC., FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ITS REQUIREMENT OF LIMESTONE, TO BE USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION WORK FOR THE YEAR 1986-87, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc., for sale to the City of its requirement of limestone to be used in street construction work for the year 1986-87, said bid being in words and figures as follows: "We propose to furnish, sell and deliver to the City of Paducah (within the city limits) crushed limestone and riprap in lots of 100 tons or more, as ordered for the following prices per ton: X6610 #3 DGA # 11 X62 #68 $5.55 $5.80 $6.00 #78 9M #125 8" X68 Riprap Riprap $6.15 $6.20 $7.15 We will start delivery within twenty-four hours after receiving each order. This is a firm price and will not be advanced during the year 1984. In the event of a reduction in our market price, we agree to adjust the price accordingly. Material delivered will be according to Kentucky State Highway specifications for No. 2, No. 610, No. 68, No. 3, No. 78, No. 8, No. 9M, No. 11 and DGA crushed limestone. Riprap will also meet Kentucky State Highway specifications. If the contract is awarded to us, we agree to post a performance bond in the amount of $1,000. We also agree to conform with all other requirements as set forth in the request for bids on this material". Said bid being in substantial compliance with a Municipal Order authorized by the Board of Commissioners on February 11, 1986, and as contained in the bid of Reed Crushed Stone, dated April 29, 1986. SECTION 2. That the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract with Reed Crushed Stone Company, Inc., for the purchase of limestone as set out in Section 1 above, according to the provisions in said"Municipal Order and in said bid. SECTION 3. The purchase price for said limestone shall be charged to FRS Street Paving and Construction, and/or Municipal Aid Program Funds. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
