HomeMy WebLinkAbout86-5-2837560 ORDINANCE NO. 86-5-2837 AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING.A RESOLUTION ENTITLED, "RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSIONERS OF WATER WORKS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH DECLARING REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY ON THE OLD CAIRO ROAD SURPLUS PROPERTY; REQUESTING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY AUTHORIZE SALE OF SAID PROPERTY AND DISTRIBUTION OF PROCEEDS; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING ADVERTISEMENT OF SAID PROPERTY FOR SALE" WHEREAS; the Commissioners of Water Works have declared the real and personal property located on Route 7, Old Cairo -Road, .in the City of Paducah no longer suitable or necessary to the operation of the Water Works; and and WHEREAS, The Commissioners of Water Works have declared this to be surplus property; WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Water Works have declared the proceeds from the sale of this property are needed to continue the efficient operation of the Water Works, and that it would be in the best public interest to sell same; and WHEREAS, said property is presently owned by the City of Paducah, Kentucky. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. The City of Paducah hereby authorizes the Commissioners of Water Works to sell the aforesaid real and personal property, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a stone on the northerly line of the Old Cairo Road 122.07 feet in a westerly direction from the northwesterly corner of the intersection of the Old Cairo Road and the line of dedication of Jacobs Lane, as measured along the chord of the curve, the northerly line of the Old Cairo Road; thence with an interior angle of 77 degrees 14 minutes and in a northerly direction 73 feet to a stone; thence with an interior angle of 89 degrees 13 minutes and in a westerly direction 48.76 feet to a stone in the easterly line of Rayford and Birdie Simmons; thence with an interior angle of 90 degrees 47 minutes and in a southerly direction and with the easterly line of Rayford and Birdie Simmons, 61.29 feet to a stone in the northerly line of the Old Cairo Road; thence with the northerly line of the Old Cairo Road and in an easterly direction, 50 feet, as measured along the chord of a curve, to the point of beginning. Conveyed to the City of Paducah by deed of record in Deed Book 471, page 502, in the McCracken County Clerk's Office. SECTION 2. The City of Paducah hereby authorizes and directs the Corporation Counsel to approve all deeds and any other documents necessary to accomplish the purposes of this ordinance and further authorizes the proceeds from this sale to be deposited in the General Fund Account of Paducah Water Works. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will be effective upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
