ORDINANCE NO. 86-3-2812
AN ORDINANCE AMENDIN& SECTIONS 32-18, 32-19, 32-20, 32-21 AND 32-24, OF CHAPTER 32,
ARTICLE II, "COMMISSIONERS OF WATERWORKS", OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
Section 1. That Sec. 32-18, "Establishment and composition of commission; appoint-
ment", is hereby amended and reordained to read as follows:
"There is hereby created a commission to be styled 'Commissioners of Waterworks'
composed of five k�} six (6) members to be appointed by the mayor, subject to the approval of
the board of commissioners.
Section 2. That Sec. 32-19, "Qualifications", is hereby amended and reordained to
read as follows:
"The commissioners of waterworks shall fie-res-ideaes reside in the area served by the
waterworks and be legal registered voters e€ in the McCracken a-ity County. A majority of the
commissioners shall be residents of the City of Paducah.
Section 3. That Sec. 32-20, "Ex officio commissioner", is hereby amended and re -
ordained to read as follows:
"In addition to the €4ve k§} six (6) members provided for by this article, the mayor
shall appoint a member of the board of commissioners who shall be an ex officio member of the
commissioners of waterworks as provided for by KRS 96.320.
Section 4. That Sec. 32-21, "Terms of office", is hereby amended and reordained to
read as follows:

pointed-theree€ter-- shall serve for a term of four (4) years. Upon a vacancy occurring, the
mayor, subject to the approval of the board of commissioners, shall appoint a member to com-
plete the unexpired term. The term of the new member appointed in 1986 shall expire January 6,
1990.
Section 5. That Sec. 32-24, "Quorum", is hereby amended and reordained to read as
follows:
"Three 43} Four (4) members of the waterworks commission shall constitute a quorum
for the transaction of business."
Section 6. This ordinance shall be read on two separate days and will become effec-
tive upon publication of title and a certified summary thereof.
