Paris F pump opera to I F loodwa ll File Documen s Board of Education tax rate City of Paducah Ma-rch 16, 1971 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 16, 1971, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m. on March 16, 1971, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: Walter H. King having resigned as a member of the Civil Service Commission, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, appoint James Curtis a member of said Commission to fill the unexpired term of the said Walter H. King, so that said Commission shall be composed of the following members: Ed Cain whose term expires December 9, 1971 Kelly Crayne whose term expires December 9, 1972 James Curtis whose term expires December 9, 1973 Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry appointing James Curtis a member of the Civil Service Commission. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryer and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that Eulen B. Paris be employed as pump operator in the Floodwall Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to March 10, 1971. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the following documents from the Paducah Board of Education concerning the 1971 tax rate for school purposes, be received and filed: 1. Letter regarding General Fund Levy and Resolution 2. Resolution and Certification of General Fund Levy 3. Resolution and -Certification for Special Building Fund Levy 4. Four copies of General Budget 5. Copy of Certified Assessment from Department of Revenue 6. Copy of Tax Rate Calculation from Department of Education. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . ProceedingsofBoard of- Commissioners City_of Paducah Pay claim Don Mullen - sewer Request bids on 160 parking meter 183 March 16, 1971 Commissioner Ptryear offered motion that the claim of Don Mullen, 900 South 26th I Street, for expenses incurr,ed,when he unstopped a city sewer on February 5,-1971, be allowed, and'that the City Treasurer be authorized to.pay the sum of -$112.12 in total for his cost in .cleaning and repairing said sewer,, and I further move that said' - check be made payable jointly to Don Mullen and to Littleton Plumbing,-& Heating Company Adopted on call.of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher; -Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a - resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE'CITY MANAGER -TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS F THE PURCHASE OF APPROXIMATELY 160 MANUALLY OPERATED PARKING METERS, -HEADS AND COIN BOXES, AND YOKES AS APPLICABLE, AND PRESCRIBING THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE - SUBMITTED", be -adopted.' Adopted on call of'the Roll, Yeas; Commissioners Fisher, - Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Close portion alley Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner'Fisher, that an Clay & Park, 21st & 23rd Streets ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CLOSING -A PORTION OF-AN_ALLEY IN THE:BLOCK BOUNDED BY CLAY -STREET AND PARK AVENUE AND NORTH 21ST AND NORTH 23RD STREETS IN -THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on call -of the Roll, Yeas; Commissioners Increase refuse collection fees Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and -Mayor Cherry (5) Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING' SECTION 27-48 AND SECTION 27 -49 -OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be adopted. Adopted on ca'll of -the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry='(5). On motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED 1971.APPROVED Mayor City Clerk
