Grant City of Paducah February 2, 1971 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 2, 1971, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner: Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copier :of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 p.m., on February 2, 1971, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, as follows: / Upon the recommendation of the City .Manager, 3, move that .the fallowing personnel changes be made: 1. The following temporary laborers in the Street Division of the Public Works Department be terminated, retroactive to November 28, 1970: Johnny Crenshaw JFrederick A. Blevins Marvin L. Armstrong Barry Weiner 2. The following persons be employed as temporary laborers in the Refuse Division of the Public Works Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour, retroactive to February 1, 1971; said employment not to exceed nine (9) months from date of employment: Charles Hooks Robert Cox Cletus Woods Larry Freeman 3. The following employees of the Street Division be transferred to the Refuse Division, retroactive to January 28, 1971: George Riley Francis Lee Jackson 4. That Charles C. Bradshaw be employed as atemporary laborer in the Refuse Division of the Public Works Department, at a salary of $2.00 per hour, effective February 3, 1971. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the claim of Paul Dismukes in the amount of $8.39 for damages caused by employees of the re- fuse division to his property on January 18, 1971, be approved, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay said amount after first obtaining a complete and final release. adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the letter of Governor Louie B. Nunn dated January 4, 1971 to Mayor Robert C. Cherry, advising the Mayor of a Crime Commission grant for $26,752.00 for the acquisition of a police Communication system, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Execute contract IET Sewer tap -on fees Bradley & 29th Street Fairmont Add reduce Accept Crime Commission Grant - poli Employ Commun Program Consultants lift station Change Order Littleton Code Enforce- ment City of Paducah juo 169 February 2, 1971 Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH THE,INSTITUTE OF ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING WORK TO STUDENTS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COLLEGE WORK STUDY PROGRAM", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor cherry '(4), Commissioner Harvey voted "NO". Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE AMOUNT TO BE CHARGED PROPERTY OWNERS FOR CONNECTING TO THE CITY SANITARY SEWERS CONSTRUCTED IN AND NEAR BRADLEY STREET AND ALONG 29TH STREET FROM BRADLEY STREET TO THE RAILROAD PROPERTY IN THE FAIRMONT ADDITION TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JANUARY 5, 1971", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Puryear voted "NO". Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A GRANT AWARD FROM THE KENTUCKY CRIME COMMISSION FOR A POLICE COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM, AND DESIGNATING THE PROJECT DIRECTOR AND FISCAL OFFICER FOR SUCH PROJECT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) . Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF COMMUNITY PROGRAM CONSULTANTS, INC. TO PERFORM PLANNING AND CONSULTING ENGINEERING SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A SEWAGE LIFT STATION AND APPURTENANT.'STRUCTURES IN THE VICINITY OF BLANDVILLE ROAD AND KENNEDY ROAD, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT COVERING SUCH EMPLOYMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CHANGE ORDER TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN LITTLETON, INC. AND THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SITE IMPROVEMENTS IN THE OAKLAWN CODE ENFORCEMENT AREA OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WHICH CONTRACT WAS AUTHORIZED BY ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS DATED JUNE 24, 1969", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5).
