Pat Kerr iappointed Planning Com Approve appointment J Pat Kerr Planning Com Refund over- payment to L State -Police' cars At a Regular ,Meeting of the Board -of Commissioners held in the Commission Cha in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 24, 1970, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of -the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner: Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5) M&yor Cherry offered.motion that the reading of the Minutes for March 10th and March 17th, 1970 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as 'written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Horrisby,'Puryear and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that the resignatic of Mr. Roy Hughes as a member of the Paducah Planning Commission, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear .and Mayor Cherry (5) . Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: Roy Hughes having resigned as a member of the Paducah Planning Commission, I hereby, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, appoint J. Patrick Kerr as a member of said -Commission to fill the unexpired term of the said Roy Hughes, so that said Commission will be composed -of the following members: J. K. Foster whose term expires August 31, 1970 Mrs. Dallam Hart whose term expires August:31, 19,70 Robert W. Levin whose.term:'expires.August 31, 1971 J.. Patrick Kerr whose term expires August 31, 1971 Wilbur M. tee whose term expires.August 31, 1972- . Andrew S. Wood whose term expires August 31, 1973 Richard A. Williams whose term expires August 31, 1973. Commissioner Fisher -offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harve.y,.that the action of Mayor Robert C. Cherry appointing J. Patrick Kerr as a member of the Paducah -Planning Commission to fill the unexpired term of Roy Hughes, be approved. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey,.Hornsby, Puryear and.Mayor _Cherry (5 ). Commissioner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner.Harvey, that a copy of the letter dated March 16, 1970, from James W. Hughes; Administrator, Highway Safety Programs, to Paul G. Holland, Chief of the Paducah Police Department, demanding -a refund for a $1,919.42 overpayment by the Federal Highway Administration -for purchase of a police patrol car and station wagon, be received and filed, and I further move that the Treasurer be authorized to pay the sum of $1,919.42 to Thelma Stovall, Treasurer, State of Kentucky, for said refund. March 214, 197Q, Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Fisher, that upon the recommendation of the City Manager, the following personnel changes be made: 1. Paul Jones, laborer in the Refuse Division, be advanced to the position of truck d.r ver_ i� the . Refuse Division, at a .sa lary- of. -.$2.23 per hour, - retroactive to March 23, 1970. 2. The resignation of the following laborers in the Refuse Division of the Public Works., Department b.e , accepted_:.. - Henry M. .Brown,,. Jr.;, effective -December 30, 1969 Donnie Rodgers, effective March 51 1970 3. Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded''by Commis's'ioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Hamock Funeral Home of the northeast corner of -Lot No. 339 in -Block -No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and- Mayor Cherry (5) . Commissioner `Puryear offered motion, seconded -by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Mundy Funeral Home of the northwest corner of Lot No: 338,in-Block No. 6 of the Rushing,Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City-Clerk'be authorized to execute -a -deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Thomas be employed as City Manager for the City of Paducah, effective May 1, 1970, for an indefinite period and at a salary to be hereafter fixed -by ordinance. --Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby,'Pdryear and Mayor Cherry (5) Commiss-.loner Fisher offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, 'that a - .t resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION'REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO-ADVERTISE'FOR BIDS FOR ONE HEAVY DUTY CAB AND CHASSIS FOR DUMPSTER HOIST -UNIT, FOR USE BY THE REFUSE' DEPARTMENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS,AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. -Adopted, -on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fisher, Harvey, Hornsby, Puryear and Mayor Cher -r -y (5)'. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear,:that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE GRANTING AN AUTHORIZATION TO KELLEY'TRANSPORTATION COMPANY,'INC. FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT,'MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A MOTOR BUS- TRANS- PORTATION SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE TRANSPORTATION -FOR HTRE OF PASSENGERS AS A COMMON CARRIER; FTXING THE TERMS AND 'CONDITIONS OF SUCH GRANT AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Puryear and Mayor Cherry -(3), Nays, Commissioners Fisher and Hornsby (2) . Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Citi of Accept bid Tilfor Plumbing & Heatin sewer under stree & railroad tracks 33 March 24, 1970 Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF TILFORD PLUMBING & HEATING, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTING A GRAVITY SEWER CROSSING UNDER THE RAILROAD TRACK AT HELEN STREET AND UNDER THE RAILROAD TRACK AT ST. LOUIS AVENUE, AND UNDER THE CAIRO ROAD AT HELEN STREET IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
