Floodwall P Park Dept. terminations File contract Peter Pirsch fire trucks File bid Motorol Communication Units & Battery Charger - Police 453 December 12, 1972 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 p.m. on December 12, 1972, Mayor McNutt presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for November 28 and December 5, 1972 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that the Bond of Bobby Butler d/b/a B & B Construction Company in the amount of $2,000.00, dated October 7, 1972, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). X Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that the liability insurance policy issued by The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company to Roe Wilkins & Wilkins Construction Company, Inc., for the period ending April 24, 1973, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the ..following personnel changes be made: 1. Robert Brown, collector in the Refuse Department, be promoted to mechanic helper in said department, retoractive to December 8,-1972, at a salary of .$2.93 per hour. 2. The following persons be employed as temporary pump operators in the Floodwall. Department, retroactive to December 11, 1972, at a salary of $2.00 per hour: Roy Copeland Henry Rucks J. R. Adams Charles O'Malley Eutice Waters Roy Elkins Lewis T. Clark J. Curtis Ray Hayes Lowe Charles Bowerman 3. Brenda Herrington, pattern instructor in the Parks Department, be terminated retroactive to"December 11, 1972 4. Adiine Adams, bicycle instructor in the Parks Department, be terminated retroactive to December 11, 1972. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Peter Pirsch & Sons Compal for sale to the City of two fire trucks, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (8). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the _ a bid of Motorola for sale to the city of fourteen portable communication units and one multi -unit battery charger, be received and filed. Request bids Cars Mayor & City Manager Request bids car for fire chief December 12, 1972 Commissioner Puryear offered motion seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that the bid of Gulf Oil Company for sale of petroleum products to the City of Paducah for the year 1973, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, as follows: I move that the Charges preferred on this date by Robert Holt, Chief of the Police Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, against Joel Dickerson, a member of said Police Department, be received and filed, and I further move that a hearing on said Charges be held on December 15, 1972, at the hour of 4:45 o'clock p.m., in the Commission Chamber in the City Hall in Paducah, Kentucky, and that the City Clerk immediately notify the said Joel Dickerson of such charges against him, and the date, time and place of said hearing by having a true copy of said charges served upon him, ther with the Notice of the date, time and place of hearing. Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH A PUBLIC BUS TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). )r,i Commissioner Harvey offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CHIEF OF POLICE TO EXECUTE Lt AN APPLICATION FOR AN ACTION GRANT WITH THE KENTUCKY CRIME COMMISSION FOR AN EVIDENCE COLLECTION UNIT", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5), Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY,MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS F THE PURCHASE -OF TWO "(2) NEW 1973 FOUR DOOR.SEDAN AUTOMOBILES,FOR'USE BY THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lamber Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that a resolution entitled "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NEW 1973 FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILE FOR USE IN THE FIRE DEPART MENT, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call o f l the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Harvey, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILSON CHEVROLET-CADILLAC, INCJI FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF EIGHT (8) 1973 FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, TWO (2) NEW 1973 FOUR DOOR AUTOMOBILES TO BE USED IN THE DETECTIVE DIVISION AND ONE (1) VAN TRUCK TO BE USED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Lambert offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Puryear, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED 'AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO THE LICENSING OF ELECTRICIALS AND CREATING SECTION 7-38 'LICENSE REQUIRED OF ELECTRICIALS', OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY", WHICH WAS ADOPTED ON AUGUST 29, 1972", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). 'r Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GULF OIL COMPANY FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF ITS REQUIREMENT OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CEiASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM JANUARY 1, 1973 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 1973, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH SAID COMPANY", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Commissioner Puryear offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Lambert, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MOTOROLA FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF FOURTEEN PORTABLE COMMUNICATION UNITS AND ONE MULTI -UNIT BATTERY CHARGER FOR USE IN THE PADUCAH POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR SUCH PURCHASE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Harvey, Hornsby, Lambert, Puryear and Mayor McNutt (5). Mayor McNutt offered motion, seconded by Commissioner Hornsby, that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE CREATING A SPECIAL ACCOUNT TO BE KNOWN AS No. Proceedings ol 456 Board of Commissioners City o[Paducah December 12, 1972 'EDA PROJECT NO. 04-01-01009', DESIGNATING THE CITIZENS BANK AND TRUST COMPANY AS.THE DEPOSITORY BANK,AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $70,000.00 FROM THE SEWER DEPRECIATION AND EXTENSION FUND TO SAID ACCOUNT", be adopted.
